Touchstone provides the opportunity for a motivated, creative individual to serve as Touchstone’s Seasonal Studio Supervisor. A qualified candidate for the Seasonal Studio Supervisor position, should possess a strong working knowledge of Touchstone’s various studios and programming, as they oversee and help facilitate daily operations throughout all studios. The Studio Supervisor is tasked with supervising Touchstone’s studios and Internship Program, to ensuring that workshop programming is executed in an efficient, enjoyable, and safe manner. Touchstones Seasonal Studio Supervisor works approximately 35-40 hours per week and may be asked to assist with non-studio duties in other areas of campus.

Kitchen Steward/Prep Cook

The Kitchen Steward at Touchstone Center for Crafts assists with preparation, setup, cleanup, and serving of meals as necessary. The Kitchen Steward is responsible for representing the highest standard of excellence in kitchen cleanliness and organization, ensuring the kitchen & dining room areas are clean, well maintained, organized, and always stocked. The Kitchen Steward reports directly to the Culinary Manager. Start and end dates are approximate.

Touchstone’s Summer Internship Program is an intensive 10-25 week work-study program (May – September) where emerging artists, graduate, and undergraduate students learn studio management and operations while refining their artistic skills and working with some of the country’s best artists. Touchstone is committed to fostering the next generation of artists who will carry on the traditions of American craft forms.
The Artist Residency Program provides the time, creative space, and support for emerging and midcareer artists to explore new ideas and bodies of work in any media that we are able to accommodate. The beautiful and unique 150-acre campus of Touchstone offers the perfect environment for makers seeking to change the artistic direction of their art, or reinforce their current body of work.

Touchstone Center for Crafts Board of Directors

Touchstone Center for Crafts, a 501 (c) 3 organization, seeks new members for its Board of Directors. With nearly 50 years of actively connecting individuals to immersive craft experiences and promoting the development of technical skills, good design, and innovative expression, Touchstone is taking significant and strategic steps in key areas to strengthen its governance, programming and capacity to realize its mission. Once you have completed this form indicating interest in serving on our board, we will be in touch to schedule a conversation.
Hosting over 100 workshops, symposiums, and special events per season, and over 150 woodland acres to manage, Touchstone is always looking for an extra hand (or ten) to help out.
