All Levels* $90-$140 Materials and Studio Fees**
Join Stuart Gair as he demonstrates how to throw and alter forms in various ways, where you will learn to construct basic, straightforward shapes on the potter’s wheel and to then rasp, cut, fold, push, or scrape to create paired-down, geometric forms. Surface techniques will include carving and slip application. Gair will also address his approach to making forms specifically for the atmospheric firing process and how to make wadding resists, structures, and discs to create marks on the wares when fired.
*The workshop is intended for participants who have a very basic familiarity with the wheel as well as those with intermediate to advanced skills. Participants must have some wheel experience so that they are able to throw the basic starting shapes.
**Materials and studio fees are charged to students based on studio usage and materials Touchstone is providing at the request of the instructor. Additionally, some instructors may also require that you bring certain materials and tools with you, in which case a list will be provided. Final cost of these fees will be posted at least two weeks ahead of the workshop to be paid in full prior to check-in.
