Beginner-Intermediate $70-$120 Materials and Studio Fees*
Combine several images into one picture plane – from life, photos, your imagination, and/or art references. First, you’ll use small canvases so that you can develop a more traditional oil painting, which will help guide you through the basic mechanics of building a surface. You’ll create a few rough sketches to work out your composition, then start the painting. We’ll place a strong focus on the relative nature of color and on creating a luminous quality in your two works.
*Materials and studio fees are charged to students based on studio usage and materials Touchstone is providing at the request of the instructor. Additionally, some instructors may also require that you bring certain materials and tools with you, in which case a list will be provided. Final cost of these fees will be posted at least two weeks ahead of the workshop to be paid in full prior to check-in.
