Touchstone Date Nights!

Date Nights are offered on select Friday evenings from June through September during our regular workshop season.

Ages 21+
$60 PER PERSON (materials included)

No experience necessary

Partner up – bring a friend, spouse, family member, or colleague – and have a blast in one of our Friday evening mini-workshops! Spend two hours learning about a craft process by creating a hands-on project. Materials are included. Light appetizers and refreshments provided afterwards, featuring local wine (following the workshop) from Christian W. Klay Winery

NEW: Mystery Date Night! Select this session if you want to be surprised (or are indecisive). You won’t know what studio or medium you’re working in until the session. It could be a session type noted, or it may be something totally different – We can’t wait to surprise you!

Register Early! Date Nights fill up fast!

If space is not available in your desired session, please sign up for the waitlist and you will be notified if openings become available.

What to Expect

Date Nights are taught by Touchstone staff, interns, or instructors and are for participants of all skill levels – No experience needed! Dress appropriately as you will likely get messy. Projects made vary and may utilize different materials and techniques per session/instructor. Projects examples may include but are not limited to:

  • Blacksmithing – forged steel hooks, leaves, or bottle openers
  • Ceramics* – handbuilt or wheel thrown clay mugs, tiles, or small sculptures
  • Drawing/Painting – sketching/drawing using colored pencils or different paints for still lifes, portraits, or scenery
  • Glass* – flameworking and/or fused glass (not glass blowing) marbles, beads, or small objects/sculptures
  • Metals/Jewelry – making metal rings, pendants, or keychains.

*Some projects in ceramics or glass may require that you pick your items up at a later date due to the need for kiln firing.

Please check-in at the gallery in Blaney Lodge between 5:45-6:15pm. The workshop will be held in the studio starting at 6:30pm until 8:30pm. Wine and appetizers will be served after the workshop at 8:30pm at the Dining Hall.

We recommend wearing closed-toe shoes and avoid wearing loose clothing or long jewelry. If you are in Blacksmithing, cotton clothing, jeans, and closed-toe shoes are required (no flip-flops or sandles). We will provide safety glasses and ear plugs.

If you have any questions, feel free to email info@touchstonecrafts.org or call the office at 724.329.1370.
