Create Your Own Jezyk (Polish Porcupine) Ornament

Whether you call it a Polish porcupine or star urchin or hedgehog, the traditional paper ornament “jezyk” is a terrific addition to your Holiday decorations. Learn all about this craft, as well as the tradition behind it, from guest instructor, Ann Szilagyi. The jezyk ornament can be displayed all year round in windows, bowls, etc. Make this a tradition of your own to share with family and friends and leave this class with a finished ornament. All materials are included in the registration fee (Wrapping paper or magazines, CD, sharpened pencil, scissors, glue stick, two small beads, lightweight fishing wire, a nickel and Scotch tape). Please note that this class is not suitable for those that have arthritis or issues with manual dexterity of the hands.
$30 per person, includes materials

Instructor Bio: Ann is retired and resides in Albright, West Virginia with her husband and cat Bonita.
During her free time Ann enjoys paddling whitewater, gardening, and walking. She also works part time at WVU Medicine in the STEPS program, a program designed to assist medical students with hands on training and education.
She enjoys teaching the Jezyk class each year to pass on a long tradition taught to her years ago by her mother.
