Margaret Saylor

Margaret Saylor is an artist who creates artwork focusing on mushrooms and fungi. She uses watercolor, graphite, and egg tempera to bring her pieces to life and gets her inspiration from her native Berks County, Pennsylvania. Margaret teaches her students the importance of observation, good drawing skills, and enthusiasm for botanical painting in a fun and engaging way. She has taught for 10 years in person and online for venues such as public gardens, art institutes, and botanical art societies. Additionally, Margaret is a working graphic designer and studio artist who was awarded a certificate with distinction in botanical art from the New York Botanical Garden. Since 2013, she has been the editor and designer of The Botanical Artist, a quarterly journal published by the American Society of Botanical Artists.
