Nanette is a queer, Jamaican-American metalsmith from south Florida. Leaving home at 17, she went on to live in Quito, Boston, and Florence. After graduating from MassArt in 2015 with her BFA in Jewelry and Metalsmithing, Nanette has been exploring her practice within her brand, Hew Jewelry. She currently lives in Durham, NC, and spends summers teaching in New England. Her work focuses on creating and exploring contemporary jewelry created from sustainable, raw, and recycled materials, incorporating found objects with various fiber techniques.
