Narong Tintamusik

Narong Tintamusik - Headshot
Drawing/Painting Studio Instructor

Narong Tintamusik is a Dallas-based interdisciplinary artist whose material-focused practice spans painting, sculpture, and craft. His work explores the transformative potential of surfaces through processes such as aniline wood dyeing, patination of metal mesh using food-based agents, and the encrustation of pigments, plastics, and organic residues. Drawing from a background in biology and environmental science, Tintamusik treats materials as both cultural artifacts and speculative technologies, layering techniques to investigate themes of preservation, decay, and diasporic memory. He holds an MFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of North Texas and has taught at the university level. His work has been supported by craft institutions including Penland, Arrowmont, Anderson Ranch, and Pocosin Arts, and was recently featured in Metalsmith Magazine (2025, Vol. 45, No. 2) and recognized as a finalist for the Eden Arts Foundation Grant.
