Shalya Marsh is an artist and educator based in Morgantown, West Virginia. Originally from upstate New York, she holds a BFA from the State University of New York at New Paltz and an MFA from the University of Nebraska. Marsh makes work inspired by the textures and patterns of everyday life. Influenced by growing up in an eclectic household filled with handmade things and surrounded by gardens, her serving vessels, functional ware, and decorative tile use digitally cut stencils and screen-printing techniques to create high contrast graphic patterns that reflect her observations in the garden and beyond.
