Wes Brown is a ceramic artist based out of central Pennsylvania. Brown combines wheel throwing and handbuilding to create ceramic vessels with sculptural considerations and utilitarian functions. Raised in Dayton, Ohio, Brown traveled extensively for education across the Midwest before graduating and taking a long-term residency at Baltimore Clayworks in Maryland. Making work, teaching, and relocating were Brown’s pattern till recently with his appointment to Assistant Professor of Ceramics at Penn State University, where he now lives with his wife, Unity.
