Where are you from? South Florida
Two sentences to describe you: Arthur Gibson is a metalsmith from South Florida. They received their BFA in blacksmithing from Southern Illinois University and recently graduated with an MFA in metalsmithing from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. While there, Arthur produced a series of implements that combined aspects of cooking utensils and carpentry tools to let their audience practice woodworking processes while making themselves a sandwich in the gallery. Arthur has been focusing on woodworking as research for the woodworking tools they make.
One fun fact about you: later this summer, Arthur is going to help repair the deck of folk singer Pete Seeger’s boat, the ClearWater, which is now used for ecology outreach on the Hudson River.
