Conrad Hamather is an artist who works in the genre of sculpture as it relates to the body. He holds a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art (CAA), and PhD studies at West Virginia University (WVU) in Community Development. He makes his home in both Chicago as well as the Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania, where he is positioned as Vice President of the Borough Council of Ohiopyle, PA interfacing with local, state and federal government. In Chicago, he was the Graduate Director of the Fashion, Body, and Garment Master’s program at SAIC, prior to taking a role with Touchstone Center for Crafts as Site Manager of the newly launched Touchstone by the Falls in Ohiopyle, PA. In his new leadership role, he will focus on curating the gallery and building programming that focuses on community engagement for the organization. In his down-time he is found relearning the art of weaving and spending time with his two dachshunds, Barnabas and Klaus.
