Where are you from? Originally from Georgia but has been traveling around for the past few years.
Two sentences to describe you: Roxy is a textile artist originally from Georgia. They recently received their BFA in textiles from the Rhode Island School of Design and have been exploring agriculture- and craft- focused positions since then. Through quilting, weaving, and natural dyeing, they explore local ecologies, place-based making, and archiving the relationships they see between us, the land, and the more-than-human world.
What you hope to accomplish in your internship: Now returning as the Arts Administration intern, they hope to learn more about the administrative side of non-profits and explore materials beyond textiles.
One fun fact about you: They got the chance to shear their first sheep last summer and are continually interested in the ties between textiles and land stewardship.
