Roy is a partner in the Blank Rome LLP law firm, where he co-chairs the firm’s Pittsburgh Office and its national class action defense team. He has extensive commercial and corporate litigation experience in a variety of industries, including the defense of more than 300 class actions in more than 12 states. He regularly advises companies and corporate boards in connection with mergers and acquisition litigation, investigations, special committees, and corporate governance best practices. He has practiced law for more than 30 years and is active in the Pittsburgh legal and business community. As a result, he is a frequent speaker on a variety of legal and business topics. For over 20 years, he has been a director of the Pittsburgh International Children’s Theater, which is now part of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. Roy also is a graduate of Leadership Pittsburgh, Class XX, and Leadership Development Initiative, Class IV. He has devoted pro bono time to handling adoptions, representing minority owned businesses and business owners, advocating for women seeking protection from abuse orders, and representing high school athletes seeking to preserve their athletic eligibility. He has been recognized by Chambers USA and Best Lawyers in America in the area of Commercial Litigation, by Pennsylvania “Super Lawyers” in the area of Class Actions, and by Lawdragon as among the “Top 500 Leading Litigators in America.” Roy and his family have owned a second home in Farmington for more than 15 years.
