In this workshop, participants will learn to work with Steel, Brass, and Copper to create hand-held functional or sculptural kitchenware and utensils. Some examples may be spoons, tongs, nut crackers, spatulas, choppers, and many many more. We will learn techniques such as forging, forming, and riveting, through guided projects with time or self-exploration.

Prerequisites: Participants should come ready to learn and follow instruction. We will go over many techniques including design choices related to aesthetics, ergonomics, and utility. We will be working with hot material and power tools. Please wear appropriate clothing such as long pants, closed toes shoes. Feel free to bring comfortable working gloves, safety glasses, dusk mask and or personal respirator.

*Materials and studio fees are charged to students based on studio usage and materials Touchstone is providing at the request of the instructor. Additionally, some instructors may also require that you bring certain materials and tools with you, in which case a list will be provided. Final cost of these fees will be posted at least two weeks ahead of the workshop to be paid in full prior to check-in.
