No Experience-Beginner $90-$140 Materials and Studio Fees*
In this hands-on workshop, Shalya will demonstrate her unique strategies for using craft cutters to create stencils for dynamic ceramic surfaces. You will learn how to design digitally or by hand, then seamlessly transfer your drawings to a craft cutter to create stencils, templates, and more. Demonstrations will include paper and vinyl resists, durable tar paper templates, and foam for impressions. You will have the opportunity to experiment with different stencils and templates on a variety of pre-made tiles, or feel free to bring a few of your own pieces to test. A Cameo 4 and Cricut Maker will be available, along with a variety of materials. Participants working digitally should bring a laptop or tablet. Prefer analog? You can hand-draw designs and cut materials manually.
*Materials and studio fees are charged to students based on studio usage and materials Touchstone is providing at the request of the instructor. Additionally, some instructors may also require that you bring certain materials and tools with you, in which case a list will be provided. Final cost of these fees will be posted at least two weeks ahead of the workshop to be paid in full prior to check-in.
