The Bainbridge Method: Encaustic Awakening is a three-day immersive workshop introducing attendees to the transformative possibilities of wax, heat, pigment, and photographic memory. Participants begin with foundational techniques on small cradle boards and progress into creating larger, layered encaustic artworks that reflect their own personal narrative. The workshop covers materials, tools, safety, image transfers, and advanced surface treatments in a supportive hands-on environment. Beginner to advanced artists will feel comfortable, as the class reviews basics while providing ample space for deeper experimentation and creative exploration. Participants will leave with multiple pieces and a renewed sense of artistic confidence and discovery.
*Materials and studio fees are charged to students based on studio usage and materials Touchstone is providing at the request of the instructor. Additionally, some instructors may also require that you bring certain materials and tools with you, in which case a list will be provided. Final cost of these fees will be posted at least two weeks ahead of the workshop to be paid in full prior to check-in.
WORKSHOP STUDENTS should bring the following materials for the workshop

Touchstone will let you know if a workshop is running no later than 2 weeks before the start of the class. Regardless of the outcome of the class, running or not, Touchstone is not responsible for the reimbursement of any materials bought for a workshop.
1. Handwritten notes, poems, letters, small papers
2. Flat objects (No thicker than a coin (pressed flowers, tickets, small found items)
3. Anything that feels part of your memory or story (to be reprinted in the studio)
4. Any of your own personal tools or materials you wish to use
5. Apron (Optional)
6. Reusable water bottle
7. Sketch book
8. Pen/Pencil
