Farmington, PA —

Touchstone Center for Crafts is happy to announce the selection of Lindsay Ketterer Gates as their new executive director. Lindsay comes to Touchstone from Peters Valley School of Craft in Sussex County, New Jersey where she currently serves as the Director of Development. In addition to her enthusiasm for the craft community, Lindsay brings along strong leadership skills and experience in nonprofit management to assist Touchstone in their efforts to advance excellence in the arts and crafts community. Lindsay is an enthusiastic supporter of the immersive craft experience offered at Touchstone. She states, "it is so much more than what it appears on the surface. Under Lindsay’s leadership, Touchstone will continue to cultivate an art and craft community with unique opportunities for emerging artists, while attracting a wide and diverse student body of learners and makers.

Lindsay is currently serving as the Vice President of the National Basketry Organization, has an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts, a graduate certificate in Arts Administration and is an MBA Candidate at Ramapo College of NJ (May 2018). She is a nationally known studio artist whose work is included in the permanent collection of the American Embassy in the Republic of Djibouti, The Museum of Art and Design in NYC, Yale University Art Gallery as well as other international collections. She recently had work on loan in the American Embassy in Bandar Seri Begawan and was included in the prestigious touring exhibition ‘Innovators and Legends; Generations in Textiles and Fibers". Her work is currently touring museums as part of the exhibition ‘Rooted, Revived, and Reinvented: Basketry in the 21st Century’. Lindsay is sought to teach and lecture nationally and has spoken and taught at the Smithsonian’s American Craft Museum – Renwick Gallery, St. Louis Art Museum, Textile Study Group of NYC, Haystack Mt. School of Crafts, Arrowmont School of Crafts, Peters Valley School of Craft, SOFA Chicago and the Fiber Arts Guild of Pittsburgh.
