Between 2 Rivers Artist Trail Event

Take a ride through Fayette County, PA in the extraordinary Laurel Highlands and discover artists and studios along the Between 2 Rivers Artist Trail. On this self-guided tour, private studios are opened so visitors can engage with local artists, see how they work and what inspires them, and buy beautiful original pieces. Our artists work in ceramics, mosaics, metal, glass, fiber, jewelry, paint, and more. Enjoy as much of the trail as you please and spend an inspired day Between 2 Rivers!

The Between 2 Rivers Artist Trail & Studio Tour is made possible through a collaborative effort between Touchstone Center for Crafts, National Road Heritage Corridor, and Fayette County Community Action Agency. By joining forces, these organizations aim to foster artistic appreciation and support within the community. The event is funded in part by the Fayette County Tourism Grant Program and Progress Resources, Inc.

 

To make the most of the Between 2 Rivers Artist Trail, interested attendees can visit the official event website, between2riversarts.com, where they can download the map, find studio locations, and learn more about the participating artists. The website serves as a comprehensive resource for all event-related information, ensuring visitors have a seamless and enjoyable experience.

Annual Open House

 

Touchstone invites you to get creative on our campus at our annual Open House! This free, family-friendly event is THE day to visit Touchstone, where you can learn about our seasonal workshops and date nights, tour studios, watch artist demonstrations, shop artist pop-up shops, view gallery exhibitions, hear more about community offerings through our partnering organizations, enjoy live music, and participate in hands-on activities for adults and kids alike.

 

Held rain or shine, join us via a free shuttle bus from nearby Christian W. Klay Winery. The event is free and no registration is required. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

RAIN OR SHINE (Sorry, no refunds)

 

Get outside and get inspired! Join us – rain or shine – at the scenic Christian W. Klay Winery in Chalkhill, PA or the historic Nemacolin Castle in Brownsville, PA. Touchstone is partnering with National Road Heritage Corridor for the third annual outdoor painting event. Be inspired by the mountains and valleys in the beautiful Laurel Highlands during the Annual Pike Days Festival.

 

With Demonstrations and Prizes!

 

Artists of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to register in advance and bring their own art supplies to paint, draw, and/or photograph the beautiful surroundings alongside other creatives. Following the event, participants can have their work photographed with a chance to win prizes.

 

All are welcome to observe and enjoy demonstrations by nationally known artists. There is no cost or registration required to observe.

SNAG x Touchstone

 

Join SNAG on Touchstone's campus in Farmington, PA for an inspiring weekend of presentations and demonstrations forging connections between metalsmithing and blacksmithing. Meet and engage with established and emerging artists.

 

The weekend begins the evening of Friday, May 19th and ends after lunch on Sunday, May 21st. Details about participating in the Pop-Up Student Exhibition and Tailgate Tool Swap & Artists Market forthcoming.

 

Touchstone's facilities can accommodate around 100 people, so registration is limited, but this allows for an intimate experience. Registration includes communal meals at Touchstone: dinner Friday, breakfast + lunch + dinner Saturday, and breakfast + lunch Sunday. Limited, affordable lodging is available on Touchstone's campus, including camping. There are also a number of off-campus lodging options in proximity to the campus.

Free Your Mind - Public Textile Social Justice Art Project

Free Your Mind  is a public textile art project aiming to collect, exhibit, embed and release personal narratives about Microaggressions in a multi-sensory installation. Learn more about the exhibit being displayed at the MAFA 2023 Conference (June 22-24, 2023) at Theda’s lecture for MAFA Virtual on March 28, 2023, at 7 p.m. Eastern.  This lecture is free, please register in advance.
