Materials Included
In this 4-session class, we will learn the fundamentals of toolmaking for the blacksmith shop. Students will forge punches, chisels and a pair of tongs. In the process, students will learn forging processes such as: isolating material, rivets, refining tapers, grinding and basic hardening and tempering. Each participant will get to explore their own unique creativity and walk away with several finished tools.
*Class meets on Wednesday evenings in September, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Open studio hours will begin AFTER the first session on September 2, and are then held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
